I have over 10 years of experience working as a credentialed social worker in both Canada and the United States. Over the years I have worked with individuals and families from all different ages, diverse backgrounds, and all walks of life. I have worked with clients in the hospital, school, community and private settings, and have been a clinical instructor for the University of Toronto School of Social Work and Yorkville University's Master of Counselling Psychology Program.
My style is caring, laid back, encouraging, strength-based and compassionate. I believe the best therapy is client-focused, and regardless of modality, a safe and trusting client-therapist relationship is absolutely fundamental.
I am a committed clinician who cares and respects my clients’ unique and individual life experience. I’m passionate about helping individuals develop a specifically tailored set of unique skills to help support and improve their lives. I thrive when I see my client’s begin to feel better and achieve their goals.
MY APPROACH TO THERAPY
My approach to therapy is an eclectic one as I do not believe in a one-size fits all approach. Although my primary training was in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), over the years I have developed skills in and often draw from other models such as: Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Family Systems Therapy and Attachment Theory. I also have extensive experience in crisis assessment and intervention.
MY CLINICAL INTERESTS
My clinical interests lie in working with individuals who have experienced depression, anxiety, self harm and suicidal ideation. I am also experienced in and I am passionate in supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

I have completed all necessary coursework for a Master of Counselling Psychology Degree and am now working towards finishing my required direct client hours. Having worked as a Doctor of Chiropractic for 19 years, I bring a deep understanding of the challenges individuals face while they cope with pain, loss, fear, and uncertainty. I am also well-versed on the impacts that stress has on the body. My life experience, education, ongoing training, and warm and friendly nature will provide you with the support needed to help you restore your sense of safety and connection within this world.
I firmly believe that every person has, within themselves, the ability to bring about positive changes in their lives and that it is my role to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment that facilitates personal growth via exploration and an enhanced understanding of thoughts, emotions, experiences, needs, and values.

In addition, our sessions together may include individualized psychoeducation and offering practical and intentional exercises that can be incorporated into your everyday life, empowering you to play an active role in overcoming your challenges, identifying your strengths, and achieving your therapeutic goals.
